ok so Cathy and i tried our first spin class last night...i was a little bit scared, not going to lie. you always see like 45-50 year old women just hauling ass during those classes so i've never really had the urge to try it. i also really dont like the feeling that you get from sitting on a bike. hard to walk/sit the next day. so anyways, cathy talked me into try it. mind you, i have been running about 12 miles a week (well kind of, whatever its my goal and i normally make it but sometimes i dont run for a whole week) so i feel like i'm in decent shape but jokes on me, i apparently suck at everything. i USED to have pretty strong quads due to countless wall-sits and lunges during vball and basketball but no, not any more. i was absolutely dying. i was sweating more than i do running 5 miles and i was seriously out of breath. whaaaat. as always there was a 50 yr old skinny woman that just annihilated cathy and i - she was sprinting the WHOLE time, kill her. i almost wanted to trip her as she got off her bike but she probably would have kicked my ass. ugh. it was a little bit embarrassing for me and then of course, i can't walk today because my quads hurt so bad. worst part is that i have about 30 steps to get up to get onto the train platform, i almost had to stop and take a break after about 14 stairs! give me a treadmill and headphones and i'll be fine, a bike and techno music to pedal to - NO THANKS.
this is what i look like on a spin bike. yaaaa right.
